Selection Process and Interview

In your application process you need to clearly demonstrate how you meet the entry requirements and core characteristics.

The BASCITT selection process is rigorous with an interview day hosted with one of our partnership schools designed to get the best match of applicant to the places available.

As well as having a panel interview, you will also be asked to:

  • Deliver a short presentation.
  • Be observed teaching a short lesson.
  • Complete a subject task.
  • Meet subject specific staff.
  • Complete compliancy checks.

If you are successful at interview you will be made a conditional offer.  The conditions will be specific to your experience and qualifications but will include providing proof that you have met the eligibility criteria for teacher training, a criminal record check (DBS) and an occupational health assessment.

If you accept the offer of a place, you will be required to attend a three day induction in July and August prior to starting the course in September.
