Welcome to The Basingstoke Alliance School Centred Initial Teacher Training programme (BASCITT). The BASCITT operate under the Ofsted Outstanding i2i Teaching Partnership as the accredited provider. This collaboration enhances the quality of teacher training provision and offers broader opportunities for our trainees.
Our vision is to train human-first teachers in the latest research informed teaching theory and practice, providing the local community with passionate and confident teachers who enhance the life chances of our children.
Teaching secondary education is a challenging and hugely rewarding profession. Teachers transform children and young people’s lives, “making a real difference”. The process of becoming a successful teacher is a complex one and requires support and training of the highest quality.
Why choose to train with a SCITT?
The most significant advantage of school-based training is that, from day one, you are in a secondary school environment, acquiring the knowledge and skills required for effective teaching.
Why choose to train with us?
The collaborative partnership with BASCITT, i2i, our partnership schools (including SEN) and post-16 settings, provide a unique school based initial teacher training programme. Opportunities for trainees to develop a SEN specialism will develop an excellent knowledge base for employment both in mainstream and special school environments.
The most important elements of our training programme are:
“High quality mentoring and coaching is at the heart of this process. Professional and experienced subject mentors support you to unlock your potential as a trainee teacher.”
The Basingstoke Alliance SCITT together with i2i Teaching Partnership and its partnership schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all trainees and staff to share this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks that may also include an online search along with our relevant compliancy checks.
