“The extra support provided by the BASCITT team, and the experience and advice that our mentors and colleagues are so willing to share has given me such confidence, that I now can't imagine myself as anything other than a teacher!”  Kathrine

Complete your training in a school environment?

Do you want to complete Teacher Training in the Hampshire area?  If you're a graduate and want to complete your training in a school environment, consider school-centred initial teacher training (SCITT).

The Basingstoke Alliance SCITT delivers Secondary 11-16 years Initial Teacher Training programmes which have been designed and are delivered by groups of schools and colleges within the Basingstoke Alliance SCITT partnership schools.

The programmes are taught by experienced, practising teachers, and are tailored towards our local teaching needs. All our courses lead to qualified teacher status (QTS).

If you prefer to spend more time training in the classroom, putting theory into practice and gaining confidence through increased contact with the school environment, then a Basingstoke Alliance SCITT programme is a good option for you.

You will be based in one school from across our Alliance – the 'home school' – while completing teaching practices at others within the group.

NEW - SEN and PE with EBacc Subject Routes

The Basingstoke Alliance SCITT have specific SEN and PE with EBacc routes.  See our Routes into Teaching Tab for full details.

How long does SCITT take?

Our courses last for one year full-time running from September to July.  See our Application and Selection Tab for full details.
