‘Since starting my teacher training I have received nothing but support from everyone I have met due to the open, non-judgmental and encouraging environment. As an trainee English teacher that has dyslexia, I was worried that this would set me back or cause issues within my training/classroom. However, this has not been the case at all. I have been guided to the university resources alongside conversations with my training provider on how to navigate addressing my dyslexia with my students. As well as this, all the training resources are accessible due to the use of cream backgrounds and easy to read fonts. One thing I have found helpful is that the PowerPoints are uploaded before training sessions. Because of this I can read through before the sessions begin and give my full attention to the material we are being taught without being overloaded. There has also been a plan put into place to ensure that my mentor and school are aware of my diagnosis. This has allowed me to have open conversations with other members of staff so that I get support both in school and in training. I would recommend training with i2i as you will always feel welcomed and be given the best guidance to be able to thrive’
