Application Process

From September 2019, trainees will use the UCAS - Teacher Training application system which will handle applications for School Direct and mainstream routes, providing a single admission process for postgraduate ITT.  If you wish to apply for a School Direct, Salaried or Non-Salaried (Tuition) course then please enter Dove House on the search for courses.  If you wish to apply for Core Training then please enter Basingstoke SCITT, it is the same provider.

The scheme will open for applications for courses starting in 2020 in October 2019 for Apply 1 followed by Apply 2.  To access the UCAS website CLICK HERE.

There are two stages:

• Applicants will be able make three choices in Apply 1 (the initial application stage), which will be processed simultaneously.
• If unsuccessful the applicant can move into Apply 2, where they can apply for any course that has vacancies – at this point they will apply for courses sequentially.
• There will be a 40 working day window for all providers from the time the application is submitted to offering a place, which will be enforced by the system.
• Applicants will have the facility to withdraw from individual choices through Apply 1 and Apply 2.
• A portal provides information, advice and guidance to the applicants about the various routes into ITT.
• All providers will be able to close and re-open courses during the application cycle.

Equality and Diversity

The staff and Governors of the Basingstoke Alliance SCITT together with the lead school Dove House School Academy ensure that equality of opportunity is available to all members of the BASCITT and school community.  The means not simply treating everybody the same but; understanding and tackling the difference barriers which could lead to unequal outcomes for different groups of pupils in school;  celebrating and valuing the equal opportunity achievements and strengths of all members of the BASCITT and school community (refer to policies).
